In the 1870â??s, the United State Supreme Court reached decisions that changed the way citizens were treated as well as the way the government was run. Following the end of the Civil War, newly freed slaves and other African-Americans were granted the same rights as all Americans and guaranteed protection under the law. States that had previously enjoyed more autonomy, were denied the power to define the rights of their citizens and new restrictions to the 14th amendment were applied.

For the same reason other Latin Americans and any other people from any other country shouldn’t be banned if they have entered legally. I don’t get why some Americans won’t show respect to us Mexicans. We Mexicans respect Americans, why can’t you respect us as well?

They relationship is a formal relationship. Native Americans are citizens of the United States and thus are subjected to the same rules like all other citizens nor are they treated in a special manner compared to the rest of the citizens.

Not particularly. When in good times, Americans tend to ignore Mexico. When in bad times, most tend to blame Mexicans for job loss and other economic problems.
