Yes and no. All whales and dolphins are endangered. They are endangered mostly because of people. We pollute the waters they live in. We take away their food by over fishing. But comparing to other whales and dolphins, they NOT endangered.
Although the killer whale is not considered to be an internationally endangered species, some local populations are considered threatened or endangered due to depletion of prey species, habitat loss, pollution by PCBs, captures for marine mammal parks, and conflicts with fisheries. In late 2007, the killer whales known as the "southern resident killer whales," were placed on the U.S. Endangered Species list. [6][7][8] Because of the likelihood that not all killer whales belong to a single species, the IUCN currently asseses the conservation status of the killer whale as data deficient.[
Orcas are not endangered!!! Orcas have a high population, so that that no one know how many!!!
yes, why they were extinct
Orcas (killer whales) eat the sea otter which is partly why they are an endangered species.
No, they are protected, but that does not mean we should not be careful.
The total world population of Orcas is unknown, as they are widely distributed. Most scientists believe that although some small populations may be vulnerable, as a species, the killer whale or orca is not endangered. Not a true whale, but a large dolphin!
No they are not endangered but are found in all oceans from the Arctic and Antarctic regions to tropical seas.
Narwhals are listed as "Near Threatened" by the IUCN.
orcas reproduce when they are ready.
Orcas have no particular breeding season.
The population of Sandford Orcas is 195.
Actually neither or the 2 sub species are endangered. The common minke is least concerned and the Antarctic Minke is Data deficient but suspected to be endangered if not at risk. Their natural predator is orcas when they feed on the young. Human activity of Whaling kill around 1,000 Minke whales every year for their blubber to sell in places like Iceland and Japan.
Orcas do not live in Antarctica. Antarctica is a continent and orcas are marine animals. Orcas swim in the Southern Oceans that surround the Antarctic continent.
