Based on Marine Corps Order P1020.34G, the RAT, (Rugged All-Terrain) boots made by Danner are authorized for wear in the Marine Corps utility uniform.
Paragraph 3012.2c states that "Optional MCCBs with a Marine Corps approval identification number (see fig. 1-4) and Marine Corps emblem on the outside heel of the boot are authorized for wear with the utility
uniform and will meet the minimum requirement."
Unless there is an order (unit, batallion, base, etc.) that prohibits Marines within that command structure , you are authorized to wear them provided they meet the requirements listed in the order. If you want to get really technical and spend a lot of time researching the boot you can contact Danner or Marine Corps Systems Command to get a copy of the boot's certification dated 23 June 2010.
