All STD's are treatable, but they are not all Cureable, meaning some are for life, while others you can get rid of.

Examples of some that you can get rid of are;

* Gonorea * Genital Warts * Syphilis * Crabs Examples of some that you can't get rid of are;

* HIV/AIDS * Herpes * Hepatitis

An example of this would be HIV/AIDS which can be treated with antibiotics, but it can not be cured, or gotten rid of.

Yes. You need to go and see a qualified medical practitioner (a doctor) for a diagnosis of the STD in question and a prescription for its treatment. Alternatively most hospitals will have an outpatients department dedicated to the treatment of STDs and you could visit one of these.
The bacterial (and protozoa) STDs can be treated and removed by antibiotics; viral infections cannot be removed from the body, but anti viral medication can help the symptoms.
Assuming that STDs mean Sexually Transmitted Diseases: This is a group of diseases, not just one. Treatment differs from what disease you have. The only thing all STDs have in common, is that they are prevented (but not cured) by not having "unsafe sex". "Unsafe" here means more than just "not getting pregnant". A Birth Control pill will obviously not protect against STDs. Condoms (when used correctly) will.

Most sexually transmitted diseases CAN be treated and cured- the earlier, the better. Some, like HIV, have a treatment, but no cure at this time. If you are in doubt, see a doctor. Untreated, they will not go away, and can make you VERY sick or die. And you can give them to other people.
