Almost all cells in a multicellular organism are genetically the same - i.e. they have identical DNA. However, through a process called "differentiation", cells diverge in size, shape, and function by having different sets of genes turned off or on.

What is the difference betwen a unicellular and a multicellular organism?

A unicellular organism is an organism that has one and only one cell. A multicellular organism is made up of many different cells, all working together.

Name the structure from which all multicellular organisms develop?

Zygote is the fertilized cell that grows into a multicellular organism in sexual organisms. The embryonic germ layer divides and differentiates into the complex multicellular organism.

Is a skin cell a specialized cell?

All cells in a multicellular organism(an organism with two or more cells) are specialized separating them from unicellular organisns

Are kangaroos segmented?

Yes. Multicellular means an organism has more than one cell. Kangaroos are vertebrates and all vertebrates are multicellular.

Is a fox multicellular or unicellular?

The Bengal fox, like all other mammals, is a multicellular organism. Multicellular organisms are all organisms with more than one cell. Unicellular organisms are also called single cell organisms.

If a singular cell dies in a multicellular organism would the organism grow?

It depends on the exact details, but a multicellular organism is often able to survive the death of a single cell. In fact, in humans (which have a HUGE amount of cells), some cells die all the time.

What is more advanced a unicellular or multi-cellular?

a multicellular organism is more advanced because a unicellular organism meets up to all its basic needs in just one cell which in a multicellular orgaism it does the same thing but with trillions of cells. So which do you think is more advanced?? Multi-cellular

How does differentiation occur?

Cell Differentiation occurs numerous times during the development of a multicellular organism as the organism changes from a single zygote to a complex system of tissues and cell types.
