Also, several years from now, the area codes beginning with 88 will all be toll-free. The toll-free codes in North America are 800, 888, 877, 866, 855, and 844, with 833, 822, and 880 through 889 reserved for future toll-free use.
817 specifically is a regular geographic (non-toll-free) area code for Fort Worth, Texas.
