Are all the Mayan Indians dead?

No the Mayans are not all dead. I know this because one of my advisors for my thesis is of Mayan descent. There are tons of people like him in Mexico. Look in the Mexican state of Chiapas. Or see the Movie Apocalypto which had some Mayan descendants in it.

Culturally they have absorbed some of Mexico's broader Aztec influenced Mestiso culture, but they also practice much of their old culture on a smaller scale. In no sense of the word are the Mayans dead.
