Dogs are not considered omnivores - they are classified as carnivores because they eat only meat under most circumstances. However, most domestic dogs do show some opportunistic omnivorous tendencies - they will bite at grass or fruit if it is available and eat some of it.

Technically, dogs are carnivores but are well adapted to an omnivorous diet so are able to consume large quantities of fruits and vegetables.
