Are animals superior to humans

"Superior" is a relative term. Common things that Humans are capable of doing that it sets apart from other species on earth is critical thinking and use of tools. I am sure most of the reasonable people might agree to that. But we have the physical advantage of using our hands, So the possibility of a human to use tools is more compared to a four legged animal. Adaptation of humans is far more superior to any other species on earth, that makes us think the dominance.

Humans are classified as mammals as are many animals so technically humans could be considered to be animals from a taxonomy standpoint. It is generally accepted that humans are animals, but as far as our abilities, we can do many things other animals cannot such as using tools and machinery, and learning to control the environment around us as opposed to adapting to it. Even fairly intelligent animals like chimpanzees and dolphins are inferior to humans in terms of intelligence. In terms of other capabilities we have to use our intelligence to compensate for superior inherent abilities that some animals possess:

• Cheetahs, Gazelles and other animals can run faster than we can- but we can build all-terrain vehicles that can go much faster
• Birds, bats, and some insects can fly - but we are able to build aircraft that can also fly.
• Fish and cetaceans can swim in the water - but we can build ships and submarines that can do that too.
• Cats can see extremely well in the dark - but we can build night vision goggles.

From a religious standpoint:

The Bible says, that humans were created in the image and likeness of God and the Lord God gave dominion to Mankind over all his created creatures.
