First we need to clarify your question. Viruses (like the one that causes the common cold) are NOT bacteria. Viruses are their own subset, in fact they aren't even considered 'living' organisms. Viruses that attack bacteria are called bacteriophage, if that is what you're interested, I suggest a search using that term.
