We've had a beagle living indoors for about 4 years now, and after the initial potty-training period, she has done very well. Loves to cuddle up on the bed and lay in sunshine that comes through our screen door or windows. It has been easy to teach her which pieces of furniture she can and cannot lay on. Shedding, as with all dogs, is more of an issue in the Summer, but very manageable. The worst part is leaving her home when we leave. On occasion, she gets nervous and for some reason licks the bottom of the door, making the carpet around said door, very wet. When she was a puppy, she would often howl while we were gone. However, I lived in an apartment complex with her between years 1-2, and did not have any complaints from neighbors about her. It would be beneficial to have a large, open area in the house to play every now and then.

No, Beagles love to be outside where they can smell stuff. They are trackers, they need to track. They are very high energy!!!! Even in the cold they want to go out. Then they like to come in & have a snooze. At least my two boys do.

not really, they really love to be with their owners all the time. ALL THE TIME.

leaving any dog outside for long periods of time will give it anxiety problems, bbut beagles are known to run away and get lost.
