Bed bugs fed off of blood, and therefore are attracted to pieces of furniture where humans may sit. I cannot see any reason why they would not be attracted to carpet. If you think you have them in your carpet you should be able to see them if you try hard enough. They may escape visibility because of the depth of your carpet, but they are definitely large enough to see.
