No wild animal makes a good pet and all should be left in the wild. Big cats, including black panthers, pose a considerable danger to humans who try to keep them in captivity.

Examples of "Black Panthers" are: Black Jaguar (in Latin America) Black Leopard (in Asia & Africa)
The wild cats that can be found in Britain are not natives. These are commonly Panthers, Pumas or 'Black Cats'.
You can best help Black Panthers by giving them money to fight "The Man".
Since this section is about nature and animals I assume you mean the wild black panthers, not the Afro-American gang. Black "panthers" are merely the dark mutation of the regular leopard, and they do have faint spots. The present-day population of black panthers, like all the big cats, is the lowest it has ever been. I believe most of the black panthers are in captivity in zoos.
A melanistic jaguar or a melanistic leopard - both have black coats and are collectively known as black panthers.
Black panthers have an average life span of about 12 years in the wild and 20 years in captivity. Female black panthers usually live longer.

People say that Black panthers do not exist in Maine. But infact about 25 years ago my grandfather was hunting, and infact did see a black panther. He was terrified and did not move. My grandfather is very wise, and truthful. When he tells me the story I can feel how scared he was. Though people say that black panthers are not in Maine, I say that it is possible.
