AnswerThere is no differences in intellect based on race. Just check out the multinational firms like Microsoft, IBM, etc. They often have an extremely diverse staff in terms of race.
Africa lacks no shortage of graduates, there is probably a higher density of graduates in Nigerian cities then there is in American cities, but poverty arrests development.
The situation in the US is different. Generations of psychological abuse have left African Americans not believing in themselves at all. However thankfully, Africans don't seem to have this problem.
All in all, as the first poster said, there is no correlation between intellect and race.

Science does not have any evidence for or against this claim, and in fact shows that environmental factors are of much more importance than genetic factors. For example: Upper class Americans are generally (on average) more intelligent (as measured by the IQ test, though many people believe the IQ test is outdated) than poor Americans, because of lack of access to education.

∙ 9y agoIntelligence is not based on skin color. Many things influence intelligence, and skin color, merely being a physical trait, is not one of them. There are black people who are more intelligent than some white people, and white people who are more intelligent than some black people.
If it seems like people of various racial groups have differing intelligence levels, it may be cultural. If you come from a group that was not allowed to get education because of your skin color, then what other culture can you pass on but one based on ignorance? You may even believe that continuing such a culture is part of being true to your people. If the racists have more "book smarts" and you don't want to be seen as racist, would you want to express such intelligence? Cultures that seem to have very intelligent people tend to have a different diet and strict upbringing.
Plus there are differing priorities and differing things we call intelligences. IQ is only one measure of intelligence. Emotional regulation, social skills, and athletic prowess are other examples. Different cultures tend to value different things.

The answer is simply YES. Black people evolved to live in an equatorial climate that required less forethought and planning with more consistent and plentiful food for a hunter-gatherer lifestyle, resulting in lower average Intelligence than their white counterparts who had to plan for seasonal changes or perish to the harsh winter cold.
