Absolutely! Especially as you get older or are sewing in low light that tiny eye of the needle can be difficult to find. It also helps with older threads that may have started to unravel thereby making it all but impossible to thread the needle.

Are built-in needle threaders beneficial?

They can be, but I don't think that they are necessary. Needles usually thread from front to back, so I find that it is just as quick to do it by myself. If the auto-threader doesn't line up perfectly, it can be more trouble than it is worth on a sewing machine. However, if you are looking at a serger with built-in threaders I would say to go for it! Some loopers are very hard to thread. Kate

What was Cleopatra's needle use for?

Cleopatra's needle(s) are obelisks originally built by Thutmose III in 1450 BC. and they praised his achievements. Later Ramses II added his own praise for himself to them. You could say they were ancient brag books about two Pharaohs and had nothing at all to do with Cleopatra. "Cleopatra's Needles" is just an exotic name that someone made up for the obelisks.
