If the hen was not sitting on the eggs at all times then it probably is alright to eat. It takes 21 days for the chick to form but growth starts with the right conditions of heat and humidity from the moment the hen lays the egg. If you find eggs left for more than 2 days it may be too far along. Two day old eggs put into the refrigerator will still be edible.
