Hi, i think any kids under 9 years old can be clingy it depends how old you are. If you are 1 to 9 years old they usually just want to be mates if your 10 to 14 they usually want to spend some time with you cos your caring and young children like people who are best mates but will look after them too. If you are 15 to 20 years old they think you as an older sister or brother meaning they would love to spend time with you and think you would be really helpful with things like homework and would be fun to play some games like hide and seek or twister. Where as if you are over 21 it might mean that the child's parents arent that nice to them and they feel that you would be much more friendly and nice too be with than there actual parents. Bare in mind that i am no professional and this could all be a load of rubbish but I don't think any of these things are abnormal and personally i don't think that 8 year old boys are clingy.
