I have a 3 year old Coton De Tulear. She has so far been pretty good. I have only had her a few days and she is a little timid around my grandchildren but in no way at all threatens to bite them or even growl at them (and they are pretty active children). So, I would say, yes, they would be good around children.

Dogs are good for children because they can interact with them, feel real companionship with something other than a human, someone to keep them entertained, and especially good for young children because they can grow up around them and the two of them can grow up together.
because young dogs learn better than the old dogs and it is always good for dogs 2 learn young
Yes, Maltipoos love children! They are super playful, friendly, and sweet. Yet, it is not a good idea if someone had a child under 4 years old because they are very small and could be injured if dropped.
Certain breeds of dogs make good companions to children with handicaps. Golden Retrievers and Labradors are favored as assistance dogs.
Some dogs are good with infants and some infants are good with dogs. Teaching a child to be a pack leader from a young age will help them and the dog. A dog will be more social andwell behaved. If you dog has issues with children or strangers this may not be the best idea to combine them.
The Affenpinscher is a good family dog, but do best with older children. In general small dogs are not often recommended for households with children.
Newfoundlands, when properly adjusted to, are good with children of all ages. The dogs should be properly exercised in order to avoidoverly vigorous play.from Harper's Illustrated Handbook of Dogs

Yes
While many dogs are good with children, some are best kept away from children for safety purposes. Children don't usually know how to handle dogs and the dogs can misinterpret their play as a sign of danger and cause potential harm to these children.
Probably, but then again maybe not. It depends on the dogs. Labradors are good dogs with everything: small animals, babies, children...you name it!
