Not every Dalmatian is born deaf. However, deafness is a major concern for this breed and is not uncommon. Hearing tests are highly recommended to make sure that your new Dalmatian is not a victim of this problem.

∙ 14y agoYes, most of them are. Because the eyes are to sensitive to be exposed to light, the eye lids stay closed to protect the eyes. This is not always the case.

∙ 12y agoNo. Dalmatians have no tendency towards blindness. They do require testing for deafness, however, as the breed is more apt towards that than most breeds.
