Determining whether dolphins are smarter than whales is currently impossible due to lack of concrete testing, so it is heavily debated. On one side, it is believed that since whales have larger brains than dolphins that they are automatically smarter. On the other side, some believe that dolphins have an intelligence that is just below that of humans making them smarter than whales.

∙ 9y agoSocially/culturally at least, Orcas are smarter (and in at least equal intelligence in all other areas).
Orca social units are far more cohessive and full of ettiquette and structure, and their cultures and languages are about as complex as primitive Sino-Tibetan dialects. They have also conquered all the world's oceans in similar manner as man.
Dolphins are socially primitive cannibals and rapists. They are to Orcas what criminal elements in our own society are to the law abiding.

I can hear a horse Whinnie - I can hear a dolphi sing.
I can see a horse in fear - I can see a dolphin flee from danger.
I can see a horse suckkle her foal - I can see a dolphin suckle her pup.
I can look into the eyes of a horse up close and hear him/her telling me it's OK - I wish I could do that with a dolphin - I bet they do.
Let's face it - they are all smarter than us!
