Dragons are more in the Mythological Creatures realm than in the supernatural one. Dragons and ghosts though have been in many folk lores and tales passed down from generation to generation. But the difference is that we do not have any sort of possible accounts of dragon sightings that can be experienced over and over again in the same area with different people and be followed up with ties to the history of the place as we do with spirits. If dragons would be in the same league of the supernatural, then we would see teams upon teams of people attempting to prove their existence but we do not because of it being that it is like chasing smoke. Ghosts and odd occurences that are in the supernatural or paranormal realm can be somehow proven scientifically while all we have in regard to dragons are the dinosaurs.

Some are more intelligent than would be expected of reptiles, which is often a consequence of supernatural or magical origins. In at least one SF book series, dragons and humans are symbiotic, but they may also be depicted as smart animals like horses. Metaphysically, some dragons may be able to sense a good or benevolent nature among humans.
