I was wondering if these things were energy because the brain and all functions are controlled by electrical impulses. I'm no scientist only an 18 year old but this would make sense if it were nothing else. To stretch it further it would also make sense when talking about spirits and how most people say they are and feed off of energy. Would that make them the living memory of themselves? Would that explain why they still know who their family is to a sorts and how they can sometimes interact? I believe they can do this because their memories and emotions remain as energy. Also explaining why they are said to feed off of emotions like fear and anger because they build adrenaline which creates more energy for the muscles than when someone is calm. The emotions being energy explain why spirits are rash, incomprehensible, and outright extreme with certain actions because they are the unchained mind of themselves. While we can think something but choose to not act on it, spirits (as I believe) are raw thoughts and emotions and have a harder time controlling these actions. While I may be straying from my more mundane question on simple "is it this? yes or no" I would really like to know if others think this too. Again I'm no scientist, I'm just curious about something that came to mind. Thank you for taking the time out your day to read this and please give your thoughts.

Suggesting that mere "energy" can produce genius, emotion, free-will and vastly more, flies in the face of both logic and tradition. We possess a soul, which is more than just energy. Energy is physical; but the soul goes far beyond just physical.

Third contributor:

<<>> Since this is a question in the 'Science' section it should be said that energy has a precise scientific definition that allows it to be quantified and measured very accurately. Emotion and memories are not measureable in the scientific sense so the simple answer to this question, taken as a scientific question, is 'no'. (Historikeren)
