mostly when you buy a PC from a big manufaturer like HP they put their own limited version of the BIOS over the Acutual Bios.best bet would be to unplug your PC and locate the small battery (about the size of a penny and 3-4mm deep) on your motherboard...remove this taking care not to touch both the top and bottom of it at the same time. Then wait for 5 minutes or so and replace it..This will flush the Bios on the motherboard back to Factory settings. However it will only change the bios, not anything in your OS.

Yes however, if you buy dreamworks for a PC you cannot put that same disk into a a mac and expect it to work. You have to buy a separate version of dreamworks that was coded for a Mac's OS system.
If you are talking about the physical PC, removing the battery from the motherboard (and then replacing it) will result in all the on board RAM setting being set back to default. However in the BIOS of most PC systems there should be a setting to restore the "factory defaults" or "Factory settings". Operating systems are more difficult to reset, for example in Windows you can "roll back" to previous backed up settings (if this feature has been enabled). Note: Resenting the board defaults causes the on board clock to loose time, and can also result in some installed programs not running properly.
