They need not be contradictory. If you believe that God formed our world slowly through old-Earth Creationism, or if you scientifically determine that young-Earth Creationism is the most logical origin for the universe, your belief in God and your scientific knowledge can actually support each other.
Many think that science, and specifically Evolution, have proved that there is no God. They don't comprehend that even if Evolution was an unquestionable fact, it would not automatically follow that God isn't there. They also may be unaware that there are some highly-qualified scientists who do not believe in Evolution.
Science had faith in God.
faith you believe things always believe science is truth and experiments chose faith over science!
Many religions often appear confusing and contradictory to outside observers. However, faith allows this confusion to be overcome, and religious teachings can reconcile the contradictions. Hinduism is similar.

Though faith is above reason, there can never be a contradiction between faith and science because both originate in God. It is God himself who gives to us the light both of reason and of faith.
Nothing To Do With ScienceHope and faith have nothing to do with science.

Although science and religion are not necessarily contradictory the point of view of each is different. Science is a model based reality. Stephen Hawking has a paper given on the difference between science and the need for God. A good model gives a good, rigorous, and testable explanation that can predict future repeatable outcomes that can be tested. Religion gives us a faith based reality that doesn't give predictions that can be tested. Religion can be based on past experience both spiritual and physical. Faith is the underlying proof which is difficult to give to someone that doesn't have it. Therefore as a Christian and a scientist I do not have compatibility problems with science and religion as long as the literature and focus of each are recognized.
Science is the systematic, reasoned study of the physical world through observation and experiment. Efforts to explain the world that presuppose an answer are outside the realm of science, as are explanations that disregard contradictory observations and experiments. oh yea it is.
Contradictory
Where science begins. Or when faith ends.
