I am on my 10th year with the same fat node. My Dr refuses to remove it sighting radical surgery as a potential upset to the system. In other words they are best left alone unless it is really annoying you. They are caused by over stressing the area where development of the node occurred. Women for instance will often have fat nodes where a brazier has been too tight. I developed mine from over tightening a back belt too often.
