It depends on how they affect your blood sugar and how much of it you eat. Fruits and honey contain a high amount of sugar so you need to eat them with care and in small amounts. As long as you find a way to keep your blood sugar controlled and still eat them it shouldn't be a big issue.
As with most things it is about moderation and control.

Everything comes in moderation and balance in our life. The same goes for honey intake; if you are moderate and take safe amounts of honey (maximum - up to 1 or 2 tablespoons per day); that would not cause diabetes. Unless, you have any underlying condition or disease or taking some medicines that contribute to diabetes onset.
A lot of the cures to diabetes seem to be vegetables, herbs, spices and fruits or parts of vegetables, fruits, spices and herbs. For example Cinnamon and banana leaves seem to be popular. These are Natural diabetes treatment
No, honey is not a substitute for sugar in someone who has diabetes. It is however, good for allergies and a sweetener.
There is no proof that honey causes Diabetes. Honey is not made up of glucose. So it does not affect the blood glucose level directly. But it is wise precaution, not to consume excessive amount of honey, routinely.
