The Goosander, also known as the Common Merganser, is listed with a status of "least concern" according to the International Union of Conservation for Nature, or the IUCN Red List. While the US Fish and Wildlife Services, FWS Endangered Species List, doesn't have the Goosander listed with any status, and the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species, or CITES doesn't have them listed for protection under any appendix.
