Chipmunk
A gopher is a rodent which digs tunnels in the soil, in search of food and for shelter. A go-fer is a person who has no assigned duties, but is to be used to fetch items for another person.
There is no known name for a group of gophers as they live solitary lives in their own individual tunnels. Males and females on meet long enough to mate. Females raise the young alone.
Gophers dig tunnels with their front claws and teeth, while kicking the loose soil back with their hind feet. The gophers use this soil to plug their tunnels and keep predators out.
