A Bosendorfer and a Steinway are designed and built in a very different way, and therefore have a very different sound.Treble: Bosendorfer does not enhance the treble, unlike Steinway who do by the use of a 'duplex scale' ... therefore the Bosendorfer treble area is generally less bright.Bass: Bosendorfer enhances the bass area by using a taller and more fanned or wider spaced out bridge, giving a thick deep sound ... and yes, often thicker and deeper than Steinway ... but most music is not 'bass only' ...So put these two together .. and a Bosendorfer has a big bass matched with a not so strong treble. You should also compare that 99% of worldwide concert halls have a Steinway piano as a musical industry standard.
