The Red Deer
Scotland doesn't have a cow, if you are referring to a "national cow" or similar. However, such breeds that have originated from Scotland include the Scottish Highland, Aberdeen Angus, Belted Galloway, Galloway, and Ayrshire.
Belted Galloways originate in Scotland, like Galloways, Highland and Angus cattle do.
The highland cow is the Scottish Highlander Breed. So they originated from the Scottish Highlands. This makes them great cattle for grazing on poor forages in rough terrain. They can be found all over the United States. A related breed is the Galloway. They look like the Highlander but are polled (have no horns). They will efficiently graze under the same tough conditions as the Highlander. They came from the lowlands of Scotland and the border country with England.
sadly Scotland has no wild bison that i know of (I'm sure there are lots in zoos) but Scotland does have a wide variety of bovine (or cow like animals) including the famous highland cow
The young of a cow is a calf, regardless of the breed but if you wanted to be more specific you could call it a Highland calf or you could be more precise and say it is a Highland heifer calf or Highland bull calf.
A newborn Highland calf weighs between 50 and 75 pounds. A full-grown Highland cow can weigh anywhere from 900 to 1,200 pounds.
A herd.
That all depends on the breed. A bull's hair coat is just like that of a cow's of the same breed, really. For instance, an Angus bull has the same texture and thickness of hair coat as an Angus cow. Highland bulls have a thick long coat just like Highland cows do.
Scotland.
Most cows don't have long hair, although, I have seen a cow with longer hair than the others. Highland cattle from Scotland do have long hair A better answer may be the Kyloe.
Around 6 feet from head to tail.
