it depends. if a female and male hippo decide to get a divorce, or see other "people," and either the male or female hippo falls for a rhino and decide to marry then yes they're from the same family. also, if either said rhino, or hippo, or both have children before they meet, then yes, they are from the same family.

∙ 9y agoDespite their similar appearance, hippos are not closely related to rhinos. Hippos are most closely related to cetaceans, like whales and dolphins. Rhinos are a member of the order Perissodactyla, or odd toed ungulates.
