No. Horses are herd animals and love equine company. Should you not be able to provide this, here are some things that can help:
-Sheep
-Dogs
-Cats
-Leave a radio playing (horses HATE silence)
However none of these are alternatives, just supplements. I really wouldn't consider getting a horse unless you can offer it company. Livery yards are places where you pay to keep your horse there. As well as having access to the yard's facilities, the horse will have plenty of friends!
Yes, they NEED to have a companion. Even if it isn't another horse or pony. Horses can live with cows or sheep or llamas even and be happy. But they MUST have a companion. They will get stressed if they don't. And horses can bond strongly with people too, but I still advise they have another animal with them 24/7.
Horses are herd animals and prefer to be with others of their kind. They feel safer when they are in a group because there are more of them to keep a look out for danger. Horses that are kept alone will often bond with humans as if they were their herd mates. Some people keep a companion animal, such as a goat, to give their horse company.
A horse is a herd animal, that means its normal social structure is in a herd. Some tame horses do well alone but would prefer to have company of a sort.
Yes, horses are herd animals. Horses can be kept w/o other horses, but are way happier with an equine companion. (even a donkey will do!)
yes they live in herds.
Mustangs typically travel in herds, but they will travel alone if they have to.
Dolphins are commonly very social animals, much like humans, and travel in groups.
Horses are herd animals so in a group
They can and do. They are however animals that have a strong herding instict and will normally move as a group.
social animal are animals that are always in groups and solitary is when you are always alone and independent
Foxes are very social animals and will usually stay with their parents even into adulthood. They can be found both hunting alone or in a group.
Octopuses are solitary animals so they travel alone.
Horses are social animals. They usually want to be around other horses. When alone for a short while, they may call for the others if there are any other horses in a barn or in a far away pasture. Some may pace by the fence, (if in a pasture,) and whinny to others. If in a stall, they may become very noisy. If they are left alone for an extremely long time, they might crib or start a different bad habit. Hope that helped. =3
yes
Raccoons are social animals and babies, especially, will cry when left alone.
