What happened in the Vietnam war?

Excuse the spam produced by idiots. In the Vietnam war, U.S troops fought "Viet Cong" in jungle environments, were vehicles were hard to use, machine-gunners were targeted first, and aircraft could only bomb from perception, much like in WWII. Viet Cong would often use Guerilla tactics, such as ambushes and IEDs. Americans were slaughtered quite often in the bloody battles. The Vietnam war was quite beneficial; equipment and vehicles produced by the U.S is still used today, if not for the war, then this equipment may not have been used. Such equipment was the M16 assault rifle, now used as the M16A3/4 and M4 carbine, the M60 machine gun, still used today in Afghanistan as the M60E4, the AC-47 and AC-130 heavy gunships, now used as the AC-130U Spooky, and the F-4 Phantom started a long line of fighter jets including the F-14 Tomcat, F-15 Eagle, F-16 Fighting Falcon and F-22 Raptor.

Can be commercial such as ANFO, Military such as SEMTEX or Homemade exposive like HMTD or TATP S-Switches (Two Catagories mechanical or electrical) Switches usually perform two functions, safety arming & detonating
