my orthodontist says that invisible braces are for people of any age, but they are a lot more expensive, and usually, it is only the adults that but the invisible ones because they prefer the fact that they can't be seen. they believe it is weird or embarrassing for an adult to have braces in the first place. coloured braces are very fashionable these days and adults wouldn't get them because that would look childish. children are happy with their coloured ones because they look better and are a lot cheaper. imagine an adult with bright green braces, not cool. so, there is the cost issue and the look issue.
