Dogs most definitely are not color blind including Labrador retrievers . There are some differences in their vision from that of humans, but -- contrary to popular myth, their eyes contain both rods (cells that detect light and movement but not color) and cones (which detect color and need more light than rods do in order to activate).
In a sense, yes. Dogs, labs included, can see color, but not to the same degree humans can. While we have three pigments for detecting color, dogs only have two. When this condition arises in humans it is considered a form of color blindness.
All dogs are color blind, so yes.
Labs can be black, chocolate, and yellow
No, chocolate lab's noses are not typically considered red. Chocolate labs usually have brown noses, while black or yellow labs have black noses. However, when their genetics are mixed it can result in different color noses.
It really doesn't make a difference but some people say that the yellow labs are the smartest, then the black labs are the second smartest, and the chocolate labs are the dumbest.
it is possible that a small fraction of the puppies will be chocolate or yellow labs.
No..?
A chocolate lab's phylum is Chordata.
If the mom has chocolate lab in her genes, she will have a good chance of having a chocolate of her own. We have 2 black labs that we bred and she had a chocolate baby because it was somewhere in her line.
yes my yellow lab has a mom that's a black lab and a dads that's yellow and they had black, yellow and Brown labs so you will get a mix NO. Two chocolate labs will ALWAYS have chocolate labs. Chocolates are double recessive which means they only carry the recessive chocolate Gene.
yes

No, it's not. A Labrador can come in three main colors which are cream, black and chocolate the ones I seen anyway a lot of people in my area have chocolate labs and are such great dogs, the color chocolate is not a defect in this breed at all, its actually a well sort after color and my choice of colors in the Labrador's if you google the breed you will come up with alot of information on the breed including what colors are acceptable in a purebred Labrador Retriever hope this answers your question.
