Are Labradors and Labrador Retrievers the same?

Labrador Retrievers andGolden Retrievers have the same last name and are in the same category as curly coated retriever Flat coated retriever, Chesapeake Bay Retriever, Murrey River Curly Coated Retriever, Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever. They all have the same name due to retrieving game.

The Golden Retriever comes in 2 colours cream and gold. In the 1800 Sir Dudley's records show a yellow dog now known as the breed Nous was bred from a black flat coated retriever. Then Nous was mated with a liver coated tweed water spaniel itself a small retriever and as a result were born four delightful Golden Retrievers known as Crocus, Ada, Primrose and Cowslip. 100% gun dog.

no they aren't the same even though they look a lot alike. the difference is that labradors have short hair and golden retrivers have long hair
