No because a myth is something that has not been stated as a true fact unlike legends. A good example of a mythological person is Robin Hood , it is said that he stole from the rich to give the poor , but its never been made to an true fact that Robin hood ever existed whilst a person like Martin Luther king is a legend , people have witnessed his existence.

Basically Legends are for real and Myth are something that has gone from one mouth to another.

a legend is often pasted down and a myth is less believable and you often can't get the story from more than 1 person.

They are essentially the same, but legends tend to be more based on some truth, or on real events, both generally involve a lot of fiction.

Are urban legends true?

Urban legends are not true. Urban legends are stories that have been past on from generation to generation. They consist of myth and sometimes horror. The term "urban" is used to differentiate modern legend from traditional folklore in pre-industrial times and does not refer to an urban area. This is a term that has been used since 1968. The most common Internet source of debunking "urban legends" is snopes.com.
