It sounds like you are thinking of calla lilies. Canna (or Canna lily) is not a true lily, and according to the ASPCA website (http://www.aspca.org/Pet-care/poison-control/Plants/canna-lily.aspx), is non-toxic to dogs/cats. However, calla lily and ALL true lilies are very poisonous to cats.
