No, not really, although I have seen a very large False Widow, probably pregnant because it is not normal to see large Spiders in the Canary Islands. False Widows have a bad reputation of being poisoness, in fact, they are as poisoness as a wasp or a bee sting.
It is common, yes.
The Canary Islands is a set of 12 different islands that are grouped together to form one common territory. The Canary Islands are owned by Spain. These islands include Tenerife, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, La Palma, La Gomera, El Hierro, La Graciosa, Alagranza, Isla de Lobos, Montana Clara, and Rogue del Oeste.
The main languages spoken in the Canary Islands are Spanish and Canarian Spanish. There is also a regional language called Canarian, which is a variant of Spanish with some influences from Portuguese and Guanche, the indigenous language of the islands.
Canary
Spain's principal chain islands ar two: the Balearics, off the Mediterranean coast, and the Canaries, near the Atlantic coast of Morocco/Western Sahara. Both are common holiday destinations, though the most popular by far are the Balearics - most notably Ibiza.
Those are Spiders!
Jumpimg spiders, wolf spiders, fishing spiders, cobweb spiders, barn spiders, cellar spiders, funnel spider (grass spider), garden spider.
Dolphins and spiders are both members of the animal kingdom. Other than that they have little on common.
It is not entirely irrational. Fear of common house spiders would be irrational but fear of large spiders e.g Tarantulas, or poisonous spiders would have a rational basis.
The Canary Islands are part of Spain, and thus use telephone country code +34, with 9-digit subscriber numbers. Spain no longer uses area codes, as such, but most landline numbers in the Canary Islands begin with 922 or 822.(The plus sign means "insert your international access prefix here." From a GSM mobile phone, you can enter the number in full international format, starting with the plus sign. The most common prefix is 00, but North America (USA, Canada, etc.) uses 011, Japan uses 010, Australia uses 0011, and many other countries use different prefixes.)
Two common house spiders are the Daddy long-legs and the Huntsman. There are links below to both spiders.
Brown Recluse and Black Widows are the most common poisonous ones, but there are many types of spiders including wolf spiders and garden spiders.
