It's not the driver that's illegal, but the vehicle. Military vehicles don't have to comply with all the regulations required for civilian vehicles.

Only if you're in the military and have been ISSUED them. That is not much of an answer. If you are in the military and are issued grenades, you certinly are not allowed to carry them home with you. They are issued for practice or battle situations only. They are however legal under federal law if they are registrated, like a machine gun or silencer.

Doctors in the military are issued defensive arms--they usually get the M9 pistol. They can't have a weapon to use offensively, like a rifle.The only people in the military who are issued no arms at all are chaplains.
