I think they are clingy only to get what they want they are not clingy unecessarily. They despise being so though I would imagine because it makes them dependant on another. They never invest emotion, effort or feeling to another only to gain narsassitic supply. Most feel others are not worthy of their made up self and are all pawns in their game objects to be manipulated and used for their immediate adulation, attention.
