Absolutely! Also, Kids are not taught any manners. They call adults by their first name. This erases the respect boundaries. If they don't learn respect for their elders they will have no respect for themselves.
No I don't think so. It's all very individual of course. Time is changing and what we dealt with when we were kids is not the same they deal with today. We have also come further in child psychology. Manners are still taught as far as I know. This also differ a lot between cultures. Some are more strict than others.
