Maybe brainwash is a bit too heavy of a term, I would use the term influence instead. Whether they would agree or not social media influence them. Whatever is seen, heard or both seen and heard from the media is automatically planted in our subconscious, whatever it is that affects us will make us aware of it, will affect our thinking, our reasoning, and our actions. For example, If the media will show all positive information about person A and all negative information about person B, people will own that opinion, will treat it as fact and truth. Even if the information is false and people will try to disprove it later it will take time and more arguments and debates.
