In 2007, the Breed Specific Legislation (BSL) tried to pass a law that would make people keep pit bulls muzzled when in public and in cages when at home. Luckily for pit bulls, Animal rights activists fought this and the law was not passed. For now there are no regulation in Baltimore County as a whole. Hopefully it will stay that way because it is unfair to overgeneralize dog bites like that. When we're not alowwed to persecute people in America, who knew we would begin persecuting man's best friend?
I checked the internet and I could not find a ban on pitbulls there. When doing a check on ban on pitbulls for some cities, normally I find real quick. But most cities has a ban on pitbulls so to be sure, check your local authorities.
Pit bulls are illegal in Malheur County, however I don't believe they are illegal anywhere else in Oregon.

Pit Bulls are not illegal in the United States. However, there are restrictions (in some places, severe restrictions) on what kind of pit bull you are allowed to have. Ohio isn't specific enough really, the restrictions are generally county specific.
What is the difference between pit bulls and other dogs?

There is a law banning not just Pit bulls. The Molosser family including, the American Pit Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, and English Bull Terrier as well as the Spanish and Argentinean Dogo and any dog with traits derived from such mixes, are banned in the Miami Dade county. It is the law.
