No, police and transit police are not the same. Police officers are responsible for enforcing laws and maintaining public safety within a specific jurisdiction, while transit police focus specifically on enforcing laws and ensuring the safety of public transportation systems, such as buses, trains, or subways. Transit police officers have jurisdiction over the transit system they are assigned to and often have specialized training for dealing with transit-related issues.
