mainly harmful, it depends on which potato they ... well, sit on. In some context they are good, if you are the type of person who likes hospitals and operations the your answer is good, but if you are the type of person who likes to keep out of harms way then the answer is harmful. Its not some much poison, don't get me wrong but I think they have poison in, its more the sharpness, in the worst case scenario it could end up slicing your oesophagus, which could end to premature death ( unless you have it removed immediately ). My final opinionated answer is HARMFUL.
no they aren't because i eat them all the time and I'm not dead yet. at least i don't think so.
but really they aren't but if you think they look weird on the potato the ncut it off.
Potato eyes are shoots. Seeds come from the fruits formed after the plant flowers.
Potato reproduce with the help of eyes on the potato tuber because the seeds of potato are very week. They rarely grow into plants.

Potato plant produces flowers, fruits and seeds. Yet they never grow from seeds because potato seeds are very week. They rarely grow into plants
The seeds are called eyes if that helps you out. Your welcome :)
Storage food for seeds and varietals. Potatoes store all that starch in their trbers because the eyes of the potato are the progeny of the potato.
Potato eyes on a potato are just the roots of the potato growing out. They injdicate that a potato is old, and has not been freshly harvested. Potato eyes on a human just refer to swollen eyes - usually meanig that he/she has ben crying!
Potatoes do not have seeds. They grow from the "eyes" seen on the potato. What you see are the eyes growing. They don't mind cold if it is not below freezing.
No, you have to plant the potato. I grew one for a science project once. You have to bury the potato in some soil and leave only an inch of it sticking up. Keep it watered and in a sunny spot. You can plant the eyes of a potato, but only with big chunks of potato still attached. Cut a potato into chunks that contain two or more budding eyes, and let the cut part of the potato harden for a day or so, to help prevent rot. Then plant them about one foot apart with the eyes up (so they can see!). They should be planted about four inches below the ground's surface, but just barely covered over until they begin growing.
because it doesnt need seeds
Potato plants produce flowers, fruits and seeds. Yet never grow from seeds because potato seeds are very week. They rarely grow into plants. Hope this answer helps you!
Potatoes are tubers. Each have "eyes". If you cut the tuber up so that each segment has an eye and plant it, a new plant will grow with several tubers growing underground. "Seed" potatoes have many eyes on the tuber.
Planting potato seeds will sprout potatoes. However, in order to get edible potatoes, you will need to let the potato grow, then once you have a grown potato, you will have to cut off part of the potato and replant it.
