Does Canada have free healthcare?

In US you have to pay. In Canada it's free. ANSWER: in US you've got to have benefits through an insurance company. they cover some costs etc.. if you get sick, need prescriptions, go to the doctor or need to stay in the hospital. In Canada we are required to pay taxes right off our paycheque for medicare. it is free to go to the doctor and stay in the hospital unless we request special things like a private room. in that case i believe we pay the difference, not the entire cost. Things like prescriptions are paid for, for me anyways, partially with benefits from work. For my prescriptions I pay $8 every 3 months for a presciption that would cost $50 without benefits. Without the benefits we'd have to pay 100% of the cost, which can be ridiculous depending on the prescription.

How do you export medicines from Canada?

It used to be you could send your prescriptions to a Canadian Pharmacy and have them shipped. Now with this new law US patients are forced to pay higher amounts for any prescriptions we used to get from Canada. If you contact a Canadian pharmacy they are trying to have distributors in the US now, with not much success. They are locked out. So you have to buy from USA pharmacies only.
