Under the National Firearms Act (NFA) it is illegal for a private citizen to possess a sawed-off modern smokeless powder shotgun (a barrel length less than 18 in. or 46 cm and an overall length less than 26 inches) without a tax-stamped permit from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, which requires a background check and a $200.00 fee for every transfer. However, if the weapon was manufactured by a licensed builder, with a short barrel and no stock, the transfer fee is $5.
it will kill them mostly, but sawn off shotguns have a wider spread and less velocity then long barreled shotguns and need to be taxed if the barrel is under 18 inches
sawed off shotguns are legal in South Carolina as long as the barrel is a minimum of 18-inches.
In US law, there is no legal minimum for a handgun barrel- I have a Sedgely Baby Hammerless .22 Revolver with a 1 inch barrel. There IS a legal minimum (16") for rifles and shotguns (18")
3 ways Plain Sawn, Quarter Sawn and Rift Sawn
I guess you mean 'Sawed-off' or 'Sawn-off'. Shotguns are an extremely powerful weapon at close quarters but because they are so long, they are a bit difficult to use in small spaces. The butt was sawn off to resemble a pirates pistol grip and the barrel(s) was sawn off to a point usually immediately in front of where the wooden grip finishes. This made it a very useful weapon at close quarters. It is highly illegal to do this.
In some States. But mostly, Yes.
18" for shotguns
18 for Title 1 rifles and shotguns, 21 for Title 1 handguns, and any Title II items (full auto weapons, short barreled rifles/shotguns, AOW, destructive devices, etc.)
Past tense of the word saw. The board was sawn in two.
the best
Sawn formwork is formwork that for concrete structure that needs to have plaster and paint finish.
Depends on how much of the barrel is sawed off.
