I'm going to a selective school next year. I don't thin they are discriminative. I think they help the very intelligent students learn something. When I was in primary school, I didn't learn much. Sometimes, I even taught the class. By going to a selective school, I'll have competition. When I was in primary school, people kept telling me that I would get it and some people would bet that I would. I had no competition. By going to a selective school, I will work very hard and to the best of my capability to be the best. In my opinion, I don't think selective schools are discriminative.
