However a Siberian Tiger is slightly longer than a Smilodon Populator by about 20 centimetres. The Smilodon Populator is 3.5m and the Amur (Siberian) Tiger is 3.7m. But In terms of weight the Smilodon Populator Excels. This animals weighed 575kg in exceptional specimens and the Amur Tiger is only 320 kg which is a lot of difference. Summed up A Smilodon Populator is taller, heavier and stronger where as the tiger is longer, and faster. So yes they are roughly the same size.
